Twenty-four years ago today, Australian intelligence agencies were quietly tracking growing threats in Southeast Asia. Seven months later, the Bali bombings would kill 202 people including 88 Australians, shattering the notion that terrorism was something that happened elsewhere. It became known as Australia's 9/11.
